Asbury Park's first amusement park fun faces appeared in 1913 on the Steeplechase, a waterfront attraction on Ocean Avenue. These images were strikingly similar to those introduced at Coney Island two decades earlier by George Cornelius Tilyou, and to the Tillie images at Palace Amusements in Asbury Park four-and-a-half decades later.
